Chadstone came to us because they were looking to open part of their new development, but were not finished building what lay behind. What we found when we arrived was two levels of a new area of the shopping centre, with half of it nearing completion. The bottom level of the walkway was 5m high. The top level was a massive 11m high and had a curved glass ceiling. Our job was to build a wall and install signage to the wall to hide the construction work going on behind it. It had to look good, to compliment the recently completed section of the shopping mall and provide a dust and wind barrier to the unfinished section beyond.
A hoarding wall installed on the bottom level which covered from floor to ceiling. To this, we applied a Self Adhesive Vinyl skin.
The top level took a lot more planning and effort. The bottom 6m of the barrier wall made using hoarding materials, but the top half was a peanut shaped custom designed banner fitted to the steelwork which is holding up the glass ceiling. Behind the wall, the glass had not been completed, leaving the banner open to high winds.
The whole project had to be installed as close to the opening as possible, which gave us a 2.5 day window for installation and no margin for error. The end results were excellent and the client was over the moon.
